Black Vultures Feast on Rabbit

On the way to Shady Maple Smorgasbord we passed about 30 Black Vultures. Several of them were feeding on a rabbit. We turned the car around and drive back to sit and observe them for some time. Fascinating to see them (this was outside the preserve yet again). Several of them would stretch their wings and stand statue-like. It was wild--literally. The kids did not know what to make of the rabbit meal. We took the opportunity to explain to them predator/prey. Fun!
