Union Canal Tunnel with Uncle Richard and Linda

What a wonderful day with Richard and Linda, friends of the family. They came up to visit us for the day. We took them to the Union Canal Tunnel, actually initially envisioned by William Penn and later surveyed by George Washington. It was built to transport goods from Philadelphia to Harrisburg, the soon-to-be new settlement. Amazingly the sight of the tunnel is 300-ish feet above both the Philly side and the Harrisburg side, and therefore required over 105 locks. Amazing. It was a lovely day for a boat ride too. Everett had a ball singing on the way home. We video-ed that too! Enjoy.

Another day at the Lake...and County Fair

Cousin LeAnn stayed with us for a week. We went to the Lake, and of course the County Fair. We miss her already! She was a HUGE help to the juggler guy. First she helped him re-amp his equipment. Then he called her up there to catch the bowling ball he would be using in one balancing juggling act. She did a great job, avoiding the bowling ball. We laughed heartily...she is such a great sport, and way fun.

Martin 5 Year Reunion

We had our 5yr Martin Reunion. It was a great day on the family farm. The kids had a blast! A barrel ride, the cat and kittens, the calves, cows, dogs, wonderful food, Natalie's twin--a cousin who looked just like her, and plain ol' salt of the earth Mennonite relatives. Good religious, farming people.

The Fun of Family

First time in 15 years that our entire family has been together. I had a very overwhelming feeling watching all the grandkids playing with their "birthday" balloons. It was a wonderful time getting to know family even more. The best part was seeing how much Natalie and her cousin Isaac got along. We'd put them to bed around 9pm ish. They had a sleepover together...sleeping bags on the floor. We'd go down later, around 11ish, and they would still be laying there chatting. What fun for two 4 year olds! What a wonderful week with my parents, my siblings/their spouses and their kids.

The Fun of Summer

Some fun pics of the kids.. in their "pool", eating blue corn tacos, and corn on the cob, and laying on the Sleeping Daddy.
