Kutztown Folk Festival

I wish I had taken more pictures...but with pouring down rain at times... We LOVED this and will make this another yearly adventure. The quilt auction (largest in nation) was amazing. The one I would have chosen went for $3250, only $50 more than I predicted.

Historic Roxy Theatre and Canal Park

So after the Crayola Factory we went to Spice India for lunch/dinner using our Restaurant.com deal. So for $24 we had $44 worth of food. We LOVE Indian food! And Natalie, our adventurous one, was chowing down. Everett only ate naan. Oh well, that is my favorite too.
Then everything was closed after 4pm--can you believe it. The Zoo--closed. The festival--closed. What do you do with kids after 4pm--certainly NOT hang out in the hotel room (especially since Natalie noted that the hallway "smelled like Spritz"). I called a theatre in Northhampton. Dollar theatre, all shows, all ages, $3, Good deal. Only problem was that it was a Shrek movie (4th). I dislike Shrek and Ice Age movies because of all the smutt weaved into the so-called kid movie. But, I loosened up a bit (and this one was not as bad as others, thankfully). We went to this AWESOME historic theatre. I felt like I was back int he 40's or so. Nothing had changed about it. It was great. Anyway, I meant to shoot some pics of the theatre, but failed to do so. I did, however, take some pics of the kids at the park we played at BEFORE the movie.
Check out Elliott's FIRST TOOTH!

Crayola Factory and Canal Museum, Easton, PA

So we took a mini-vacation to the Lehigh Valley. Little did I know how BIG that area is, 3rd after Philly and Pitt areas. It was a GREAT place. We started in Easton at the Crayola Factory. the kids had a nice time--but I think they loved the Canal Museum best (included in the admission of the Crayola Factory). Psst...check out what Natalie wrote on the wall.

And we thought he'd need a bed at the hotel...

So we were in the office booking a hotel for our mini vacation. Worried that with one queen bed we'd have to put the kids on the floor. When leaving the office this is what we found on the hallway floor...guess he will not have a problem sleeping on the floor.

Mt Gretna Lake

Elk Neck State Park and Lighthouse

So we went to Northeast, MD to go swimming and eat at Woody's. The water had unacceptable levels of bacteria so we were advised to NOT swim in it--we did (I told the kids NO water on face or in mouth). And we SO looked forward to Woody's for their famous crabcakes. Let us just say, they have their name so people will continue to go--I do not think we will be so quick to go again. It was not as great as in the past.
